Uniform

All children at Knowleswood are expected to wear our school uniform, which is an important part of belonging to our school community.

At Knowleswood Primary School, we believe that wearing our school uniform helps every child to feel part of our community. It reflects our high standards and shared values, and it supports children to come to school ready to learn.

We want our uniform to promote a sense of belonging while ensuring it is simple, practical, and affordable for families. Most items can be bought from any supermarket or high street retailer, and only a small number of items carry the school logo. Second-hand options are also available to help keep costs low.

We ask all children to wear their uniform with pride, showing that they are part of Knowleswood both in school and in the wider community.

Key principles:

  1. Belonging – uniform unites us and gives children a sense of pride in their school.

  2. Equality – simple, affordable clothing reduces pressure on families, supports fairness, and ensures that no child feels different because of what they wear.

  3. Readiness to learn – being dressed appropriately helps children to focus and feel prepared.

If you need support with uniform at any time, please speak with us. We are always here to help.

Jewellery and Personal Items

For health and safety reasons, jewellery is kept to a minimum in school. The only permitted items are watches and, if children have pierced ears, a small pair of plain stud earrings. No other piercings are allowed.

Earrings must be removed or covered for PE lessons; this remains the child’s responsibility. If your child is unable to do this independently, please remove them before school.
