Nursery Places at Knowleswood

We offer full and part time Nursery provision for 3 & 4 year olds.

All children, aged 3 and 4, are entitled to 15 hours of FREE Nursery provision (5 sessions) per week. We currently offer this as 5 morning sessions (8.30am-11.30am).

Entry to Nursery is usually in 3 intakes (at the start of each new term) over the year. However, parents can request a start time as soon as their child turns 3 if required and we will endeavour to accommodate this.

For those who are entitled to 30 hours of free childcare per week, we offer five full days during term time.

Nursery sessions for 2026/27 are,

• 8:30am to 11:30am (15 hour entitlement).
• 8.30am – 3.15pm (30 hour entitlement) Lunch can be purchased for those attending all day or will be provided for children entitled to free school meals. Children are also welcome to bring a packed lunch.

In September 2017, the government introduced an additional 15 hours of extended entitlement for working families (30 hour funding). Please refer to the website for further information https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk.

When the time comes for children to move from Nursery to Reception, the transition is carefully planned to ensure that the children are familiar with their new classroom teacher and the Reception environment.

Visits to the Nursery are available, providing you with the opportunity to see the wonderful indoor and outdoor provision that Knowleswood offers and allowing you to meet the Nursery Team.
