Exceed Academies Trust

Working Together Respectfully

Working together respectfully to support every child across Exceed Academies Trust.

Working Together Respectfully

Positive relationships between parents, carers, pupils and staff are fundamental to the success and wellbeing of every child.

The resources below outline our shared expectations for respectful communication, including social media use, raising concerns and accessing our complaints procedures.

These expectations apply to all communication with Exceed schools, including face-to-face discussions, emails, telephone calls, letters, social media and other online platforms.

Communicate respectfully

Positive and constructive communication helps schools and families work together effectively.

Raise concerns directly

Concerns should be raised with the school through the appropriate communication and complaints procedures.

Protect privacy and dignity

Responsible communication helps protect pupils, families, staff and the wider school community.

Respectful communication in practice

These resources provide an accessible summary of the expectations set out in our Parent and Carer Social Media and Respectful Communications Charter.

Have a question or concern?

We want parents and carers to feel able to raise questions and concerns directly with their child's school.

If something is worrying you, speaking to the school directly is usually the best place to start. This gives staff the opportunity to understand the issue, consider it properly and work with you towards a resolution.

01 START HERE

A question or concern?

Contact the school directly so that the appropriate member of staff can listen to your question or concern and help you.

02 STILL CONCERNED?

If the matter is not resolved

If you remain concerned, our complaints procedure explains how your concern can be considered further.

03 FORMAL PROCESS

Making a formal complaint

Our Complaints Policy/Procedure explains the process followed by Exceed schools when a formal complaint is made.

Complaints Policy and Parent Guide

Our Complaints Policy/Procedure and supporting Guide for Parents: Raising Concerns provide further information about how concerns and complaints are considered.

Both documents can be found on the Trust Policies page.

Together, by communicating respectfully both online and offline, we can help ensure that our schools remain safe, positive and supportive places in which every child can thrive.
